dancing alone together
An installation filling a large area of the room with hanging sheets of sheer fabric, mesh and cellophane with simplistic life-sized painted moving people on them. Each sheet moves a little with the airflow of people coming in and out of the room and the whole scene is illuminated in a soft purple light that creates shadows of moving people on the wall behind.
This room is very relaxing and soft. Subtle movements and changes in airflow show figures and shadows glide across the room as if they could just blow away. This leaves you feeling calm and peaceful. Distractions disappear and you’re left with a performance of dancers coming in and out of view. Simple is ok, people dancing together is always beautiful.
