Let’s work together
Melanie Errey is a mixed media artist working primarily with colourful, abstract, figurative painting. She creates art to bring more colour and fun to everyday life and to share stories as a way of processing events of our lives that have an impact. Her art draws on themes of shared human connection such as thoughts or experiences we all have but rarely share out loud.
Her aim is that the work that she creates through practising art will remind people of their inner child and who they really want to be, as well as inspire and challenge identity, connection and the role of art.
Recently she has completed art residencies in Australia including at 'House Conspiracy' in Brisbane and the Education Residency funded through Arts Tasmania where she worked in her studio in a highschool in Scottsdale, Tasmania.
Her practice starts with abstract acrylic painting which can be exhibited in galleries or turned into repeating patterns that can be screen or digitally printed and used commercially. She also makes products to sell out of her own fabrics.
This year she has also created a lot of art using photography, sometimes using herself as the subject and installation art with hanging segments and intricate lighting.
